Paper Free Finance legal

Accessibility statement

Version 1.0 · Effective

This accessibility statement applies to the Paper Free Finance web application and these legal pages. It follows the GOV.UK model accessibility statement.

1.Using Paper Free Finance

M Heath Consulting Ltd, trading as Usermode, runs Paper Free Finance. We want as many people as possible to be able to use it. For example, you should be able to:

  • change colours and switch between light and dark themes;
  • zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen;
  • navigate most of the application using just a keyboard, with shortcuts for common actions;
  • navigate most of the application using speech recognition software;
  • listen to most of the application using a screen reader;
  • sign in with a passkey or a password manager, without having to remember or transcribe codes.

We have also made the text as simple as possible to understand. AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

2.How accessible Paper Free Finance is

We know some parts of Paper Free Finance are not fully accessible:

  • on the invoice review screen, editable cells in the lines table are hard to tell apart from plain text;
  • one control in the inbox filters cannot be reached with a keyboard;
  • moving through the inbox with the keyboard can hide the selected row under a toolbar;
  • some screen readers do not announce inbox rows as interactive;
  • some forms disable their button instead of explaining which field is missing;
  • supplier documents shown on the review screen are the suppliers' own files, which are often not accessible.

3.Feedback and contact information

If you need information in a different format, find a problem not listed on this page, or think we are not meeting accessibility requirements, contact [accessibility contact email: to be confirmed]. We will reply within 5 working days and aim to fix or work around the problem within 20 working days.

4.Enforcement

The Equality Act 2010 requires service providers to make reasonable adjustments for disabled people. If you are not happy with how we respond to your complaint, contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).

5.Technical information about accessibility

We are committed to making Paper Free Finance accessible, in line with the Equality Act 2010, and we use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 at level AA as our standard.

6.Compliance status

Paper Free Finance is partially conformant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-conformances listed below.

7.Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Non-compliance with WCAG 2.2 AA

Known accessibility issues
CriterionProblemWhat we will do
1.4.11 Non-text contrastOn the invoice review screen, the editable cells of the lines table have no visible border until you point at them, so it is hard to see which cells can be edited (UX-25).Show a subtle border on every editable cell.
2.1.1 KeyboardIn the inbox filters, the control that clears the supplier filter cannot be reached with the keyboard (UX-35). The filter can still be changed from its own menu.Move clearing into the supplier menu as a button.
2.4.11 Focus not obscured (minimum)Moving through the inbox with the J and K keys can leave the selected row under the sticky top bar or the bulk-action bar (UX-56).Keep the selected row clear of both bars when it scrolls into view.
1.3.1 Info and relationships, 4.1.2 Name, role, valueInvoice rows that open when clicked are table rows without an interactive role, and their selected state is announced in a way some screen readers ignore.Give the inbox table a grid role, or a link in each row.
3.3.1 Error identificationIn the member invitation dialog, the new entity dialog and the ledger connection wizard, a missing value disables the button instead of saying what is missing.Show an error next to each field, as the sign-in and sign-up forms already do.

8.Content outside our control

Invoices, credit notes and other documents are created by your suppliers. Paper Free Finance shows the original so you can check it, and reads its text into labelled form fields and tables, which are accessible; the original files themselves (PDFs and images) often are not, and we cannot change them.

9.What we are doing to improve accessibility

Every change to Paper Free Finance runs automated accessibility checks (axe-core, against WCAG 2.2 AA rules) on the dashboard, inbox, invoice review, approvals and connections screens, in both light and dark themes, before it is released. We will fix the issues listed above and review this statement after each fix and at least every six months.

10.Preparation of this statement

This statement was prepared on 2 November 2026 and last reviewed on 2 November 2026.

Paper Free Finance was last tested on 2 November 2026 by our own team: automated tests with axe-core on the main screens in both themes, a keyboard-only walk through the main tasks (signing in, reviewing, approving and posting an invoice, managing members), and a review of each screen against the WCAG 2.2 AA success criteria. It has not yet been audited by an independent accessibility specialist.
